Murat Mountain


This is the mountainous and forested area between Banaz, Gediz, Altintas, Dumlupinar towns of Usak and Kutahya provinces.

Little Bittern, Squacco Heron, Ferruginous Duck, Spur-winged Plover and Whiskered Tern breed here. Especially in winter; Pygmy Cormorant, Dalmatian Pelican, and Great White Egret can be seen. One or two couples of Lammergeier, Black Vulture, Golden Eagle are seen in the region.

Demirkopru Dam


This is a dam lake in Demirci, Korubasi, and Salihli towns of Manisa. There are significant amount of waterfowls, and also teal and Ruddy Shelduck in the region.

Appropriate criteria: A4i, B1i


Marmara Lake


This lake is the fresh water and swamp area in Salihli and Golmarmara towns of Manisa. Little Bittern, Squacco Heron, Ferruginous Duck, Spur-winged Plover and Whiskered Tern breed in the region. Especially in winter there are several waterfowls such as Pygmy Cormorant, Dalmatian pelican, Great White Egret, Ruddy Shelduck, White-headed Duck and avocet.

Appropriate criteria: A1, A4i, A4iii, B1i, B2


Gediz Delta


These are the coast lagoons and Salinas of Karsiyaka, Menemen, and Foca towns of Izmir. Dalmatian pelican, flamingo, Lesser Kestrel, avocet, stone curlew, Collered Pratincole, Kentish Plover, Kentish Plover, Mediterranean gulf, little tern and Caspian tern brought important bird area status here. In winter, it shelters many waterfowls including Pygmy Cormorant, Dalmatian pelican.
