Acigol


This region is a salted lake and steppe area on Dazkiri, Basparmakci Lake, and Cardak Lake line in Afyon and Denizli provinces. There are colonies of Ruddy Shelduck and Greater Flamingo which breed in this area. Although this record made Acigol one of the five areas where Greater Flamingo breeds in Turkey, it is thought that this breeding is not seen every year. This region has also gained important bird area status with Avocet, Kentish Plover, Spur-winged Plover and Gull-billed Tern populations which breed in this place.

Corak Lake


This lake is a salted lake in Yesilova town of Burdur. This region gained important bird area status with many waterfowls including Teal, Pochard, Ferruginous Duck and White-headed Duck.

Appropriate criteria: A1, A4i, A4iii, B1i


Salda Lake


This is a light salted area in Yesilova town of Burdur. It shelters Ferruginous Duck and White-headed Duck.

Appropriate criteria: A1


Karatas Lake


This is a fresh water lake in Karamanli town of Burdur. It has gained important bird area status with Ruddy Shelduck and White-headed Duck populations which live in winter in this region.

Appropriate criteria: A1, B1i


Yarisli Lake


This is a light salted lake in central Burdur, Yesilova. This is an important place for Ruddy Shelduck and White-headed Duck in winter.

Appropriate criteria: A1, A4i, B1i


Burdur Lake


This is a light salted lake between centre of Burdur, Isparta, and Keciborlu. It is important for many waterfowls in winter. This is the most important region for White-headed Duck which is under extinction threat in winter in the world. This species can mostly be seen in Lake Burdur except for breeding period. The important species in this region are Black-necked Grene, Ruddy Shelduck, Red-crested Pochard, Pochard, Tufted Duck and Coot. Spur-winged Plover brood.
