Kemer, situated at the foot of the Bey Mountains (Olympos) National Park facing a breathtaking mountain landscape, is one of the most beautiful and attractive touristic places of Turkey with its natural beauties, ancient cities, very clean coasts, luxurious hotels whose number increases especially in Beldibi, Tekirova and Goynuk, holiday villages, large and small scale touristic enterprises whose prices are quite reasonable, and colorful recreation life.
The history of Kemer almost dates back to the time when the first human being appeared on Earth. Beldibi Cave, which is in the vicinity of Kemer, bear traces of the Upper Paleolithic (30,000 B.C. – 10,000) and Mesolithic (Epipaleolithic) periods. The ancient city of Phaselis, the ancient settlement of Olympos (Cirali-Yanartas) and Cakaltepe, with its burning natural gas, are some of the famous places. Kemer is a significant Lycian port.

Brief Historical Account
Kemer, which was founded by the Lycians, was ruled by many different civilizations. In the ancient city of Faselis (Phaselis) are the most important historical remnants of the region. Idyropolis, the Tower, remnants of the Church, the Seljuk Hunting Kiosk (Selcuklu Av Kosku) in the county town, the Gedelme Fortress in Kuzurdere Village are some of the historical riches of Kemer.
In Kemer, the Mediterranean climate prevails with its hot and dry summers and mild and rainy winters.
