Mount Agri, with a height of 5165 m is the highest peak of Turkey and the European continent. It is mentioned with many names. One of these names is Ararat. It has a legendary quality since its name is mentioned in religious books and is remembered with the Flood of Noah. In the Genesis section of Torah which is known as the Old Testament (8th section, 4th verse) it says: “and the ship sat on Mount Ararat on the seventeenth of the seventh month”. In the Holy Koran, it says: “The ship sat on Mount Cudi…” (Hud sura, 44th verse). There is also a mountain named Cudi Mountain in Turkey’s Southeast Anatolia Region within the borders of Sirnak city.
