Tinaztepe Cave


Geographical Location and Arrival


The Tınaztepe Cave System at the locality of Kecili Village is situated at 35 km. southwest of Seydisehir. The cave is at 5 km. west of Mortas Aluminum bed. The Seydisehir-Manavgat highway passes close to the cave.

Properties


This cave system has developed inside the Cretase limestone and is formed by three storeys one on another. The 100 m. long storey at the top is completely fossilized. The middle level has a total length of 1015 m. and is semi active. Water flows inside this storey in the seasons with precipitation and it ends with a siphon. The lower storey is a branch developed over a big fault line and is an active cave carrying the characteristic of doline cave. In seasons with precipitation, the surface waters on a wide area flow into here. These waters come out of the springs near Sugla Lake flowing through the Susuz Guvercinlik Cave situated at southeast. The length of the section of this active branch which is examined until now is 527 m. But the total length of this cave hasn’t been determined yet. The deep but narrow lakes and siphons inside of it make the researches hard.

The cave with a total length of 1650 m. and a depth of -65 m. consists of two sections being fossilized and active. If the fossilized section is entered in spring seasons it is necessary to cross the 5 lakes by a boat. The same gallery can be passed through by walking as the result of the decreasing waters in autumn months. After 5th lake the Big Saloon can be reached via a descent of 30 m. there is a lake at the end of the saloon. Tinaztepe Doline exists right under the Tinaztepe Cave. During whole year waters flow into the doline which has a length of 1550 m and a depth of -150 m. The cave near the waterfall is entered via a descent of about 20 m. After the descents of 10 m. the doline ends with a siphon at -150 m.


Balatini Cave


Geographical Location and Arrival


The cave is located within the borders between Camlik Village in Beysehir District of Konya and Derebucak District. The cave can be arrived by a stabilized road that connects Camlik and Derebucak using the road branched from 45th km. of Konya-Beysehir-Uzumlu-Manavgat road. The cave is situated 5 km far from Camlik and 6 km from Derebucak.

Properties


The total length of the cave is 1830 m. and has two entrances having the properties of doline and fountain. The waters flowing inside it stream out of the slope of Uzunsu River.

The entrance which is closer to the road draws the water of little uvula and run down 2 km. south slope of Uzunsu river side from a cracked valley border. The deepest point of the cave is -32 m. and the highest point is +6 m. in respect to the entrance.

Balatini Cave is formed of two different levels that are on top of the other. The ground of the fossilized branch forming upper level is completely covered with cave clay and it ends with a statue Room filled with the little statues made and left by the visitors. The lower level is the main gallery contains the water. One can go ahead the gallery by foot in the periods when the water level decreases. The three witch cauldrons can be crossed using the transition technique or by a boat. Travertine, the Statue Room and gigantic witch cauldrons are the beauties worth to be seen.


Korukini Cave


Geographical Location and Arrival


The cave situated at 500 m. southwest of Camlık Village of Beyşehir can be reached by a stabilized road.

Properties


Uzunsu River flows in Korukini Cave with a total length of 1250 m. The water come out of the cave flows through the Degirmen Valley and then arrives to Degirmenini Cave. As the cave is completely active it is necessary to use boat and even to be experienced in order to be able to cross the water that creates waterfalls between the rock blocks. Summer and autumn is the most suitable seasons to enter the cave. In spring, it might be dangerous to cross it because of the waterfalls and siphons.


Hadim Yerkopru Waterfall and Cave


Geographical Location and Arrival


Konya-Hadim Road is followed in order to reach Yerkopru Waterfall and Cave in the vicinity of Hadim District of Konya. Aladag road is entered at 10 km. to Hadim and after the turning a road of 29 km. is followed. It is useful to learn the way of Yerkopru Cave and Waterfall at the turning of Bademli Village

Properties


The cave is situated in a travertine tufa. It is one of the best caves having a beautiful nature in Turkey. The limestone structure of Taurus allows the rivers to flow underground while disappearing among the cracks and caves. The cave which Goksu River formed under the travertine tufa is 500 m. long and the cave is flushed at the place where the water sank. The Karasu branch which is one of the branches of Goksu River is dispersed in this river flowing down a 20 m. travertine formed by itself, along with the waterfall at the mouth of the cave where Goksu River comes out to the earth at the entrance mouth of the cave. Then, Goksu River continues with deep and blue lakes. The pond which the waterfall formed is suitable for swimming in summer. The valley that Goksu River flow has a restful panoramic view of travertine formations covered with moss and of green area. Some small-scale discovery tours can be done around the environment. One can walk on travertine dikes, go to the other side of the waterfall and wander in the startling darkness of the cave from which Goksu come out. The ones who aren’t able to leave the place may spend the night there pitching tents.


Buyuk Duden Cave


Geographical Location and Arrival


The cave is at 18th km in the direction of Ibradi from Derebucak after Konya-Beysehir-Derebucak road, and is situated at the west edge of Kembos Plain.

Properties


Kembos Plain with a width of 1 km. and a length of 15 km. drains the snow water melting in spring months, and especially the water accumulated here via Uzunsu Creek along with the Feyzullah Doline. The water sank from these dolines is joined with Manavgat Creek passing through Altinbesik Dudensuyu Cave. Although the cave doesn’t have a touristic significance, it is important in terms of speleology. Because of the fact that there are numerous lakes, gigantic witch cauldrons and siphons in this doline which has a length of 714 m. the cave becomes a hard place to tour.
